I am the Director of Library Services for a school district of approximately 35,000 students, K-12. I enjoy books, technology, musical theater and hanging out with my dog children, Banjo and Brownie!
I believe that school librarians are essential to learning in the 21st century. School librarians are important because, to loosely quote David Loertscher, having information makes a difference in people’s lives. In teaching people how to access and use information, school librarians transform students’ skills, knowledge, attitudes and values and make a difference. This belief causes school librarians to be some of the hardest working educators on a campus and I’m proud to be associated with them!
