NoodleTools note card maker

NoodleTools now has a My Notes feature that allows students to take their notes online and connect them to their citations. Read more about it on Joyce Valenza’s blog posting. This might be something we’d want to explore for our secondary campuses. What do you think? Would your teachers be open to moving away from the traditional note card? Leave a comment with your thoughts…

IMHO, giving up notecards is long overdue. Hand-copying notecards is just another way for inaccuracies to occur in student research.
When students finally stop gathering notes and begin writing, they’re forced to look back and determine if everything they intended was actually included on the notecard. Was it a direct quote? Was it a paraphrase? Did I write it all down? Who knows?
Hand-written notecards seem to be a form of built-in sabotage and an endless source of frustration for both teachers and students.
